Doi Inthanon National Park

Doi Inthanon is one of the most popular national parks in Thailand. It is famous for its waterfalls, few trails, remote villages, picturesque montane farms, viewpoints, sunrise/sunset watching, birdwatching and the all year round cold weather on higher elevations. The main park entrance is about 70 km southwest from Chiang Mai city center.

Also known as "The Roof of Thailand", Doi Inthanon National Park covers an area of 482 km² in Chiang Mai province north of Thailand. The park is part of the Himalayan mountain range with elevations ranging between 800 and 2,565 meters asl. The highest peak at Doi Inthanon Mountain which is the highest mountain in Thailand. The park has high humidity and cold weather all year round.

Doi Suthep-Pui National Park

Formerly known as Doi Aoy Chang, Doi Suthep-Pui National Park is named after the mountains where the hermit Sudeva lived on it's slopes for many years. The park is situated in Chiang Mai Province, only few kilometers northwest of Chiang Mai City covering 265 km².

The main attractions of the park are; Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Doi Pui Mountain, waterfalls, viewpoints and trails. The national park is one of the best in the country for hiking thanks to its “endless” trails throughout the park from all directions and elevations. Cycling is also very popular.

The mountains in the park are within the Thanon Thong Chai Range, most of its bedrock is granite. Two of the highest peaks in the park are Doi Pui which is the highest in the park at 1,685 meters asl and Doi Buak Ha.

The park is separated into two areas; In south Doi Suthep and Doi Pui area where most of the major attractions and the headquarters is, 10 km further north a smaller area around Mok Fa Waterfall.

Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden

The Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden (QSBG) in Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand was opened in 1993 and is maintained under the auspices of the Botanical Garden Organization (BGO) of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Originally named the Mae Sa Botanic Garden, it was renamed for Sirikit, Queen of Thailand in 1994.

The 6,500 rai site is home to 12 greenhouses, Thailand's biggest glasshouse complex. It displays plants and flowers year round. It was the first botanical garden of international standard in Thailand and focuses on maintaining biodiversity and promoting environmental conservation

The Royal Park Rajapruek

The Royal Park Rajapruek was built to commemorate the 60th anniversary of His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Accession to the throne as well as His Majesty 80th birthday. This large floral and botanical park has an incalculable number of plants and flowers and a nice orchids garden.

 

You will also find a large driveway leading to the very refined Ho Kham Luang Royal Pavilion.The park hosts many events, including on New Year's Eve or Loy Krathong in November and a floral festival from December to February. If you love beautiful gardens, visiting this park should please you! Of course, there are seasons when Royal Park Rajapruek is more beautiful and flowery than others. The best time to visit it is from December to February.
